PHOTO CONTEST RESULTS

Sponsored by
Friends of Marshall Square Park and the
Chester County Camera Club

Despite gusty winds and finally a few drops of rain causing us to end our exhibit at 3:30 instead of 4:00, our 1st Annual Marshall Square Park Photo Contest went well!

Twenty photographers entered 49 photographs taken in the Park to be anonymously judged there on May 21, 2006, by three members of the Chester County Camera Club based on their judging criteria.

All thirteen winning photographs are now on display through July 5th in the West Chester Borough Hall atrium (401 East Gay Street) and will remain posted on this Website (click on the titles below). Go see them for yourselves and plan to see next year's show before the losers take theirs home—one did get purchased just in time.

Five students from Henderson High won prizes, and a ten-year-old boy shot "Shoes" from a perspective only a kid would find. A Polaroid emulsion transfer print (Dogwood) and experimental work with a plastic toy camera (Park Bench, Park Sign) rewarded these creative students. "Brick Sidewalk" used infrared film, winterizing the green leaves of summer.

We are now taking orders for 5x7 and 8x10 prints of the winning images—matte finish on quality photo paper, unmounted and suitable for framing. All proceeds are to restore the Park's historic Fountain Garden.

Orders can be taken by (and Print Order Forms are available from):
