Review of Logo Ideas
Lane Randall presented a review of logo ideas submitted to date. Jeff Beitel presented a logo design which was an adaptation of previous designs using the “paths” and square layout, but adding elements which evoked a wrought iron look.

Bill Scott motioned that we adopt this logo design with minor modifications in terms of the orientation of the streets. This motion passed unanimously, with the agreed modifications.

Park Priorities
Anne Walters asked for input on park priorities, as had been requested by Shelagh Purnell at our previous meeting. After considerablle discussion, the following priorities were agreed upon...

1. Swiss Cottage Restoration
2. Gazebo Restoration
3. Restore & improve brick driveway apron at the corner of Franklin & Biddle streets
4. Improve Gravel Access Drive from Franklin & Biddle Streets
5. Fountain garden restoration
6. Relay brick sidewalk
7. Add community bulletin board using historically appropriate materials

Fountain Area Cleanup
Rain postponed our original cleanup. This was rescheduled for Saturday, 5/6.

Finance Report
Jeff Beitel reported that we have $505.00 in the back. He also reminded us that annual membership dues are now payable. Jeff said we now have 7-8 family memberships and one business membership.

Geranium Sale
Holly Brown and Lane Randall reported that 100 geraniums had been sold at the time of this meeting. Holly reminded everyone to get their geranium orders in.

Park Bulletin Board
Lane Randall asked about what procedure would need to be followed in order to have the Borough install a bulletin board in the park, which could be used for community notices and to publicize our group’s activities. Anne Walters said she would research available bulletin board models and their cost.

Photo Contest
Jim Salvas reported on continued progress with the Marshall Square Park Photo Contest and asked for help with a sign for the contest, as well as help with soliciting prizes. Holly Brown offered the donation of a birdhouse as one possible prize.

Secretary
Anne Walters indicated that Dianne Herrin had resigned as our Secretary. Jim Salvas volunteered to take on this duty and was elected by unanimous vote. Jim will also take over maintenance of the email distribution list for the group.

New Business
Mary Anne Porter offered to donate the use of one of her husband George Porters’ paintings in the form of a laminated outdoor print. This print could then be auctioned or raffled off as a fundraiser for the group.

Linda Scott suggested that we reserve a table for our group at each Swingin’ Summer Thursday event in the Borough, in order to sell tickets to such a raffle, sell other fundraising items and promote our group.

Lane Randall suggested adding the names of group members to our Website. She suggested that anyone not wanting to be listed could opt out.

The meeting ended with a discussion of our future meeting schedule and it was decided that we will meet regularly on the last Wednesday of each month. Members also expressed interest in meeting in the park gazebo, weather permitting.

The next meeting is thus scheduled for May 31 in the gazebo. In case of inclement weather, we will meet at West Chester Borough Hall.
